Divorce is the termination of the legal duties and responsibilities of marriage, thereby dissolving matrimonial bonds between a couple by a court or other competent body. More, and more couples are getting divorced as a result of high conflict, loss of intimacy and connection, and financial problems. Oftentimes, these couples have children who must now deal with the aftermath of their parentââ¬â¢s divorce, and unwillingly face immediate consequences. Divorce between their parents forces a child to readjust their life style, it puts a strain on the relationship between the child and their parents, and it effects a child psychologically. The dissolution of a coupleââ¬â¢s marriage has a massive immediate effect on the lifestyle of their children. Witnessing the loss of love between their parents, children are now forced to learn to adapt to the absence of a parent, and going back and forth between the two households. One of the most prevalent changes experienced by a child is the decline in the familyââ¬â¢s financial state because of a reduced income, in turn, children might be forced to move to a poor neighbourhood, schools of lesser quality, and cut funds for activities, such as sports. There may also be intrusions in the daily routine of the child such as, parents no longer being able to pick their children up from school, help them with their homework, or tucking them in at night.
